THINK FISH!!!
Fishing opener is Saturday morning which seems crazy because two weeks ago there was snow on the ground and less than a week ago there was still ice on the lake…It’s amazing how fast things can change!
Take a look at the regulations if you haven’t already by checking out: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/regulations/fishing/index.html
We are wishing the best of luck to our favorite fisherman-Chuck and Vern…the coffee will be waiting for you like always-and to all our other fisher peeps (family included)…can’t wait to see what you pull in!!!

Fishy Fishy in the Lake come and bite on our bait…we are so funny, but no seriously…

Our Apologies…
2 Resort Girls would like to issue an apology for the following things…
-For not using spell check, we are still new to this whole blog thing and will hopefully get the hang of it and remember to use the features available to us.
-For not being able to accurately express our sentiments though the blog…when one is writing, inflection can sometime be misconstrude…our bad…
-For not mentioning that we a blessed to have our remaining family members and that we never meant to exclude them, but we wanted to hi-lite our friend/extended family network and things that they have recently said or done. Our Family means a lot to us and we wish they understood that without us putting it in writing, but we will try to please everyone next time.
-For not being more able to vocally communicate with others, which apparently is our new downfall for the week-we will try to work on it like we have been if others are willing to comply as well. Nobody can hear when they turn a deaf ear and nobody can really know if they turn a blind eye.
So, here is what We have learned…
-2 Resort girls will be an equal opportunity post blog-we will let the bad in with the good, as we do in our day to day non-blog lives.
-We have apparently involved the “world” in what we are doing and communicating with the world may become a difficult task if we are not extremely careful with what we say…we are not too worried that the world is going to end up caring about our little blog and the un-facinatingsocial commentary we have to make, but careful we will be…(a little yoda for ya)
-We are a family that communicates in writing…texts anyone…so if we are not being vocal-the pot is calling the kettle black…
-And we are sure that everything that we just wrote will end up with us apologizing all over again…
We are sorry for the past, the present and the uncontrollable future that is to come, S and M

Thanks Jim!
2 Resort Girls would like to thank JIm for posting a link from his fabulous 56572 blog to our new-born blog…We also thank him for his support of all local businesses and his social commentary on the community that surrounds!

FINALLY!
So, the ice finally bit the dust…on the evening of May 3rd!!!! Can you believe it? Usually it is long gone by the 16th of April. Dad would have been reeling with it still lingering this long! It has been a weird spring-18 inch snow storm on April 26th…PMS much mother nature?
M and I think the gods must be angry with all the crazy shiznat that’s been going down.
-if your in the loop you know…
-if you’re not…trust me, you don’t want to be involved…
Well we can’t predict the weather or control it so we have been at its mercy. The tide has turned though and the sun peeked out to produce a beautiful weekend. I raked and dug and M raked and painted; we puttered and cleaned…next weekend water and docks. Thank goodness we have such amazing friends who are willing to help and are forcefully requesting that we accept their help…we are so blessed to be surrounded by friends like these. Our friends are an amazing family we are sooooooo happy to have
We are going to give it the old college try come Friday…and hopefully opening fishing will be pleasant! And we are ready to prove the doubters wrong…
Wish us luck!
luv, S and M
Day Jobs

So currently, M is at UND and is heading toward finals-She will be moved home with three days to spare before opener…hopefully. I am currently subbing in PR and coaching JV softball-and can I mention that we won our first game last night! Holla at my Peeps!
Our lives are chaos…We have resort life and other life, and I can tell you about growing up at a resort-your summers are NO vacations! It may seem all glam-sunshine, laking, baking and recreation-Yes that’s what everyone else gets to do while you rake the beach, take out dead minnows, pack leeches and crawlers, stock the candy and pop, clean cabins, pick up the yard, do the laundry…I could go on and on. There are a lot of responsibilities, but a lot of rewards as well-we have a crazy extended family and they come from all over…Nebraska, South Dakota, Illinois, Mighigan… We love them all and our summers wouldn’t be as great as they are without them!
Can’t wait to see you all, S and M
Waste not?

Oh the Joys of Spring! We’ve sprung a leak and the sewer is angry with us…aaaargh! So, the fabulous Scott and Nick from Kotte’s Plumbing and Heating are coming and the Super Sucker, Wayne-and hopefully all this “crap” can get taken care of… and soon! Seriously, this is impeding my ability to do laundry, clean, shower and a vast array of other things.
If it’s not one thing it’s another!
Thanks Spring…heart, S and M
cracked?

We are impatiently waiting for the ice to remove itself from Lake Lida, but it is being stubborn just like mother nature…What is her deal this year? Usually the ice is off by the 15th, well yesterday has gone and today is here and still there isn’t the slightest of cracks!
How are M and myself going to get the docks in this year? Well, hopefully are strong man friends will be willing to strap on their waders and help us
And the food and beverages we are supplying might be a draw as well. We would be sunk if we didn’t have our friends! Thanks to all!
Luv ya bunches, S and M
Spring to Sprung

The robins are out and the snow is almost gone…
The time has come to clean and fix what has either been dirtied or dismantled.
I must say that our life skills are multiplying exponentially and we might be developing ulcers because of it, but we will truck on like we always must. Are we certain that we can undertake this operation we have lived for 19 years on our own-Let’s say we are undecided and terribly nervous. Life has given us plenty of lemons, but we have to make lemonade or sell-which would be heartbreaking and our hearts are already very broken.
We will do are best with what we have and what we know…We have some reservations so that’s good, would we like more-you bet!
Keep it real-S and M
